First Time — Definitely NOT the Last

Our visit to the Skrimp Shack in Manassas was our first time at any of their locations. My wife is allergic to milk products, and the cashier, who happened to be the manager, worked with her to figure out exactly what she could and couldn’t eat on their menu. He went so far as to show us the packaging on some of the items where there might be some questions so we could check the ingredients to be sure. He really went above and beyond to make sure she had an enjoyable experience. The restaurant, including the rest room, was immaculate and the decorations were simple, theme-appropriate, and not overdone. The food was wonderful. My wife had the fish tacos with grilled whiting, my grandson and I each had the skrimp (shrimp) basket with hush puppies. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty. The fish tacos were loaded and came with sauces that really worked with that type of fish. The shrimp had the best breading I’ve ever had on fried shrimp — it was very light, barely there, which I much prefer to the heavy breading you get on fried shrimp most places; and the shrimp was cooked perfectly — cooked just long enough to be cooked through without turning rubbery. A quick “grab a bite while the car’s being worked on at AAA” turned into a truly pleasant dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Restaurant was clean and new. Fish and hush puppies were AMAZING... perfect blend of fried food taste without feeling greasy or oily. I personally got a shrimp and crab meat poboy which the crab meat left something to be desired. Next time, I will get the shrimp and fish poboy and that will be the ticket!!! Couldn't decide on collards or hush puppies for a side so I got both...and was doubly rewarded for my indecision LOL. There are many more side options that I will likely never get to because the collards are just that good. They serve Pepsi products or you can have fresh brewed iced tea! Delicious...will come again!

I kept hearing about a new seafood restaurant in Manassas. The Skrimp Shack has a casual seafaring atmosphere. There is pleasant background music (variety). The staff is wonderful-----so helpful and welcoming. They treat every customer like long lost family members or friends. The prices are reasonable and the menu portions are generous. The food is absolutely delicious. The Skrimp Shack reminds me of a southern fish fry (no bone-in options) with homemade side dishes. They offer take-out and limited dining-in. There is also a Skrimp Shack VIP loyalty app/program. ask the staff for details. So many menu choices----yum!
